I have to say that they don't usually turn out pretty well.

For instance, Might and Magic (as pointed out) did a pretty good job back then on keeping RPGers busy. But when they tried to blast it into full 3D with Might and Magic IX, they went broke.


Sometimes it's because gaming companies tend to focus on better technologies for sequels, and because of that they overlook the gameplay of their games which is the REAL core of gaming.
