Just in case you forgot to wait after the credits, here are the details for the "bonus" scene in X3.

Earlier in X3 we encounter Xavier in class teaching students. Before he is interupted he shows a video feed of an adult body that has no soul and only a full nervous system. All the necessary parts are there, just nobody is behind the wheel.

When Xavier gets 'killed' by Phoenix he must have transported himself to that same body available to discussion. Did Xavier always have the body available as a source of a backup?

Either way, Xavier is very much alive, just not his old self.... unless he somehow morphs the body into looking like him.

Fox has given themselves a bit of insurance just in case they want Xavier to return in X4... if it happens.
