This is a short excerpt of an interview with the lead designer of Forza Motorsport 2.
I know many people are excited about this game, so every bit of info helps!
Quote:
Dan Greenawalt: "My personal highlight from the development of the first Forza Motorsport came during the Popular Science April 2005 cover feature called "Virtual vs. Reality, Can You Tell the Difference - at 150 mph?"
I was able to play the role of crew chief with professional racecar driver Gunnar Jeannette by tuning the virtual version of his real-world racecar on the virtual version of his real-world home track. He would do laps in the game and make comments about understeer in this situation or oversteer in that situation.
As a result, I would tune the springs, damping, downforce and other setting to make the car better suited for him. This experience proved to be instrumental in defining Forza Motorsport's lifelike physics system."
