Don't get me wrong, The Curse of the Black Pearl was very well written, acted and funny but Dead Man's Chest is better than The Curse of the Black Pearl because it had a more complex plot as to why each character wanted the chest for themselves. Jack wanted it so he could rule the sea, Will wanted it so he could stab the heart thereby killing Davy Jones and making good on his promise to save his fathers life, Norrington wanted it so he could regain his honor and once again be named Commodore instead of being a henchman on Jack's ship, and Lord Beckett wanted it so he could have sole control of the sea for himself.
Plus the scenes are outright hilarious when Jack is a shish kebab and tries to attack the natives and when the whole tribe is chasing him down the beach to the ship. I mean, honestly, have you ever seen someone have a funnier running style and yell than Jack in that scene?
