We have promised this many times before, but we are working overtime to limit the occurrence of the infamous, and hated, pop-in ad on CanMag.

A couple months back we got rid of all our pop-up ads and hoped our readers prefefred the pop-in instead of the pop-up. We still do get some upset letters from time to time, however, which is a strong reminder of why we need to limit the pop-in even more.

Though we had hoped to wait until the New Year for the latest update, we are pleased to announce that we have limited the occurrence of the pop-in ad once again.

The pop-in ad was set for once every four (4) hours for CanMag readers, it has now been updated to once every eight (8) hours.

That should be a nice improvement, but we have gone a step further. Besides fixing the "Hide Advertisement- Firefox" link, we have also included a new clause into the pop-in's programming.

If you are making your first visit to a CanMag article after an eight-hour period, you will only have a 50/50 chance of seeing the pop-in. You will still be counted for having seen the ad and won't have to see it for at least another eight hours.

What all this means is a WHOLE LOT LESS of the hated pop-in ad on CanMag.

One of our number one priorities in 2007 will be to remove this ad entirely without have to resort back to pop-up advertisements.
