Seems like I'm taking the easy way out on my answer to my favorite epic fantasy, but Peter Jackson hit the ball out of the park with the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

My second favorite is Arnold in the original Conan movie - an R-rated fantasy movie for an adult audience and great casting of Arnold in the lead role... (The 2nd Conan movie went PG and was awful!)
