Neon Genesis Evangelion

Has anyone else heard about the live action Neon Genesis Evangelion that they are trying to make. So far it sounds promising, i have heard that the speical effect company that did king kong and lord of the rings well be worknig on it. But do you think they can really properly adapt the story, if you've seen the anime then you can understand that it may be complicated to keep the original story intact.

That sounds like quite an undertaking. I used to find anime annoying, but it's enjoyable late at night for a good brain scramble before bed. Now it's just the half-hour doses that bug me. As soon as I get into them, they end, and then I miss a few episodes ... and then it's confusing again.

I doubt you can capture a whole series in a single 2 hour movie, but I hope they don't lose the soul of the idea.

Wow this is shocking.... I really hope this live action isnt as cheap and dis-heartning as sailor moon live action.

Wasn't this delayed again for another year?

It's supposed to be released 2006, I think.

About the idea... well, I didn't really like the idea. Seeing live action EVAs would be beyond great, but seeing an americanized Rei Ayanami or Asuka Soryu Langley might be an eyesore. Nothing can replace the anime characters in it.

They should've just made another CG-powered OVA.
