Dukes of Hazzard... B+

OK, so for the first 10 minutes of the movie I kept thinking "this is sooo wrong." At first I guess I thought it had far to contemporary a feel for the type of movie it was. I think I heard the "F" word too. Quite a bit different from the original!

I was uncomfortable with Shawn (Stiffler from the "American Pie" movies) as Bo Duke at first. He was playing to much of a sweet-heart. But really as the movie progressed him and Johnny Knoxville really pulled it off, IMO.

I loved it. I loved the Cameos! some great ones! There was a quote from Dumb & Dumber, actors from Super Troopers, among others. Great flick.

What I didn't like:

Jessica Simpson. Sorry, I thought I was going to like her. I think perhaps they over did the make up. maybe she just had to many speaking parts (about 5 minutes probably). I don't know. Just didn't float my boat for some reason.

The Boob shots. While I like boob shots, it somewhat ruined aspects of the movie for me because I wouldn't want to show this to younger viewers whom I'd other wise love to watch it with.

And that's about it.

on the nudity, I think the only reason I'm having an issue with it is because it's becoming so cliche for these types of movies. Almost like a predictable horror movie. It's just overplayed.

I have to admit I actually liked it - it was differebt from the old series, less wholesome, but it still retained the feel for me.

It wasn't an amazing movie, but it was nice, easy viewing.

It's funny, I was just reading my email, saw your response and decided to come over here when I heard AC DC's "Shoot to Thrill" behind me. I turn around and my wife is watch the Dukes... lol. she fell asleep half way through and is finishing it now. I stopped for a second to watch a high speed scene

excellent.

I didn't think this movie was that good at all. They marketed it way too much around Jessica Simpson being hot.

The car scenes were cool though.

I agree. It seems to me that pretty much everyone I talk to is tired of Jessica Simpson.

It really comes down to how big of a movie snob and how much of the original show you watched. The big movie snobs and the hardcore DoH fans hated it while regular moviegoers thought it was pretty funny. I didnt have any problem with it, It was pretty funny at times.

First of all, Jessica Simpson was used too much as a way to grab viewers. I really thought she was going to be in the movie the whole time since there was huge hype about her being in this movie. WRONG!

Can we say she also sucked at acting? She's good at singing, she should stick to that instead of acting. Anyhows, I thought this movie had horrible horrible horrible (yes, that horrible) actors.

Overall, I thought this movie sucked.

blah. to many pervs were lookin to see JS flashin skin. Everyone complains about her lack of time in the movie, but I disagree. She's not a good actress or even very pretty. She has a great bod and that's about it, so she didn't need more time, IMO.
