Oh, now I did it. I probably started an "old show vs new show" war again.

But seriously, the new series is shocking and unlike anything else we've seen on weekly TV. I love when a cast of unknowns is pushed hard and turn out such great performances. I can't believe the Chief's journey from geek to psycho. All the interactions are interesting, the conflicts full of surprises, and the actions downright chilling at times. Kudos for a show where the whole universe changes and the story is obviously going places.

I got so tired of the Star Trek formula where life stays the same forever and nobody ever moves faster than a brisk walk even if their ship is on fire.

The original show was cute. But forgettable. The new one has some staying power.

it worked until the end of the second season recently - it's not going to be back until OCTOBER so I figure it's a death knell... along with the jumping ahead a year, thank you very much.
