Default CSI: Crime Scene

I search this one but found no thread. I like to watch CSI very much - everything from CSI: Crime Scene, CSI:NY and CSI:Miami (this one is my favorite).

What do you all think about these series?

love the original CSI - not so keen on the other ripoffs, as I think that Horatio is just too full of himself and just overqualified for every job there is!

OMG, Horatio is just a huge PITA, but then again Caruso was also a big PITA in NYPD Blue. He thought the show would die when he left after the first season, and then Dennis Franz turned out to be the big star. I won't watch the CSI Miami because he annoys me so badly.

CSI NY was slow to get going. Gary Sinise seemed to be having a hard time getting into the role, or else the writers were having a hard time writing the character. It's getting better. But the original CSI is still the best.

Do the people who watch this like the shows because they are campy or do they genuinely find them quality? I don't understand. Someone explain to me, please.

I suppose it all comes down to what an individual classifies as "quality". What I look for in any TV show is entertainment and characters I can care about. Stay within the boundaries of the show's premise, don't repeat the same story over and over, and give me reasonably well-developed characters. I have a hard time watching any of the modern sitcoms, although The Simpsons will keep me entertained. As for the dramas I watch, I suppose I consider them "quality" because they fall within the parameters I set for enjoyable TV.

I like CSI because it's scientific in parts and darned funny in others. The last ep rocked!

"Dude, where's your car?"

ROFL!

I like the characters of the CSI series. My favorite is the original but I like NY also. Miami...not so much. The show is getting blasted, a little, because it takes artistic liberties with forensic science. Critics say that it gives people, namely jurors, an unrealistic view of forensics and that is affecting criminal convictions etc. Soon CSI will probably have a warning label on it or something to the effect of "what you see here is not real."

I have the hots for Grissom, but I also really REALLY like Dr. Robbins. He's very cool, and you'd never guess he wears prosthetic legs in real life. (hence the cane).

yep - BOTH legs, which makes me respect the man even more... he's amazing!

so who wants Grissom and Sara to get together? I"m more of a Cath/Gil shipper myself, but it could be worse...

"That's not funny!" (Nick, upon seeing his repainted truck)
"Oh, yes it is." (Catherine)
