In anticipation of the release of Pathfinder on DVD July 31st, we have been hooked with four (4) copies of Pathfinder Unrated to give away!
![]() Savage swordsmen bent on death and destruction clash with the iron-willed protectors of a new world in Pathfinder, the heroic action-adventure filled with intense battle scenes and breathless, primal violence. Debuting on DVD July 31stfrom Fox Home Entertainment, the mythic clash will be available in its theatrical R-rated version and in an unflinching and brutal two-disc unrated extended edition, packed with extreme battle footage too intense for theaters! Shrouded in the mists of legend of a time when Vikings tried to conquer North America, Pathfinder tells the story of a young Norse boy left behind after his clan shipwrecks on the Eastern shores. Despite his lineage, the boy is raised by the very Indians his kinsmen set out to destroy. Now, as the Vikings return to stage another barbaric raid, the 25-year-old Norse warrior (Karl Urban – Lord Of The Rings, The Chronicles Of Riddick), facing a personal war between those who sired him and those who raised him, the reluctant hero takes up arms against the war- mongering barbarian hordes, leaving a trail of vengeful devastation in his wake. Equal parts Conan The Barbarian and Tarzan Of The Apes – Pathfinder is stylishly directed by Marcus Nispel (2003’s graphic remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) from a script by Laeta Kalogridis (Night Watch), and features a powerful supporting cast that includes the beautiful Moon Bloodgood (Eight Below), Russell Means (Last Of The Mohicans) and perennial film villain Clancy Brown (Highlander, “Carnivale”) as the leader of the invading Norse warriors. Both the unrated and rated versions of the DVD include director audio commentary as well as eight deleted scenes, plus the action-packed unrated DVD additionally includes five behind-the- scenes featurettes, making-of segment with the director, special look at Brown’s portray of the Viking leader and more.
To win a copy of Pathfinder Unrated, here is what you must do:
Post your favorite epic/fantasy film, or post your favorite Karl Urban role. I will select six winners on Monday, July 30th. The first four to send me their whole name and shipping address will win a copy of the DVD. *Sorry Canadians and the rest of the international community, this contest is limited to US residents only. Good Luck! flabbybuns |

Seems like I'm taking the easy way out on my answer to my favorite epic fantasy, but Peter Jackson hit the ball out of the park with the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
My second favorite is Arnold in the original Conan movie - an R-rated fantasy movie for an adult audience and great casting of Arnold in the lead role... (The 2nd Conan movie went PG and was awful!) Last edited by Leebob : 07-27-2007 at 06:28 PM. Reason: fixed typos |

Hee, hee I am one of Karl Urban's biggest fans, so...
Hmmm my favourite role of his is a tie. Eomer from Lord Of The Rings and Rob from the Price Of Milk. Almost all his other roles are runners up. My fave fantsy film is Return Of The King from the LOTR trilogy. |

Hmm, Pathfinder, I really wanted to see it but never got the chance.
So far, the only reply has been for Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" series, but I'm going to steer away from that course, as much as I loved that trilogy. I'm going to say it's a three-way tie for me: Pan's Labyrinth, Edward Scissorhands and The Wizard of Oz. I haven't paid too much attention to Karl Urban though, I did however enjoy his presence in The Bourne Supremacy and Riddick as well as of course as Eomer in LotR but he still has a long career ahead of himself, hopefully we'll see some astounding performances. I'm really, really curious to see how he does in Pathfinder as from the trailers, it looks very nice. |

Yeah, I was really surprised that none of you mentioned it, it's among the finest films of the fantasy genre, even among the finest films of any genre. It makes you feel at home, and we know, there's no place like home. |
