Default Win a Copy of Miami Vice

For our Holiday Gift Guide, Universal was kind enough to hook us up with four (4) copies of the Unrated Director's Edition of Miami Vice for a giveaway.

Miami Vice, writer-director-producer Michael Mann's (Collateral, Heat) intense examination of the allure of globalized crime, blasts its way onto DVD in both R-rated and Unrated Director's Editions on December 5, 2006 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The Unrated Director's Edition amps the intensity with a never-before-seen version of the film that features footage not shown in theaters, creating an exclusive motion-picture experience audiences won't want to miss.
Added Features: Blazing with excitement from the very first shot through the thrilling climax, the Miami Vice DVDs include exciting extras that provide an exclusive insider's look at the volatile and visually stunning world of Miami Vice. Both the Rated and Unrated Director's Edition contain the following bonus features:
* Miami Vice Undercover - Learn how actors Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell prepared for this adrenaline spiked experience and perfected their roles with authentic, real-life details from actual undercover agents.
* Miami and Beyond - Shooting on Location - Follow the cast and crew to the real-life locations used to create the film's exotic vibe, including mysterious Ciudad del Este, Paraguay and the gritty back streets of the Dominican Republic, which doubles for Castro's forbidden Cuba.

The Unrated Director's Edition takes fans even deeper into the production of this film with the following in-depth bonus features.
* Visualizing Miami Vice - From production design to cinematography, discover how top technical experts captured the distinctive, instantly recognizable look and feel of twenty-first century Miami.
* Feature Commentary with director, writer and producer Michael Mann.
* Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes - This bonus feature provides a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, including an exciting look at the actors' fire arms training, the film's locations, and the filming of one of the film's most exciting sequences - the boat race.

To enter to win, just respond to this thread with one of the following:

- Your favorite Michael Mann film and why.
- Why you want a copy of Miami Vice.
- What remake/adaptation you'd like to see Foxx or Farrell do next.

Four winners will be selected on Monday, December 18th.

Miami Vice is out on DVD now.

Good Luck!

Post Miami Vice

Well since I still haven't seen Collateral and can't think of many other Mann films I'd call my favorite at the moment, I'm gonna have to go with why I want a copy...

Plain and Simple, I haven't seen the movie yet!

Default Foxx as Gomer Pyle...

- Your favorite Michael Mann film and why.-
I'll have to go with Collateral, it was an intriguing story and casting Cruise as the villian worked well. Also Jamie Foxx showed he could hold is own (and then some) against a big name like Tom Cuise. I've not yet seen "Heat", but I've heard that's a good Mann flick.
Why you want a copy of Miami Vice.
I need to see Miami Vice again; being a fan of the original show; I had a hard time judging it on its own merits when I saw it for the first time in the theatre; the dark, gritty style was quite a bit different from the TV version; I'm looking forward to seeing it again and giving it another chance.

- What remake/adaptation you'd like to see Foxx or Farrell do next.
I know this sounds very strange, but I'd like to see Foxx go back to his comedy roots and do his take on Gomer Pyle. This could be part comedy and part drama (similiar to the style of Forest Gump); perhaps sending Pyle and company to Iraq.

My Favorite Micheal Mann Film:
I loved "The Insider" with Russel Crowe and Al Pacino. The story was compelling and the acting was superb. I thoroughly enjoyed it. AA+.

Why I want to win a "Miami Vice" DVD:
Unfortunately, I missed it in theatres but my brother told me it was very entertaining. It's a Michael Mann film after all.

What remake/adaptation would I like to see Foxx or Farrell do next:
Hmm....how about an update of the TV show "Crime Story" produced by Micheal Mann? Collin Farrell could be the lead!

Default Favorite Mann film

My fav Mann film was Collateral because Tom Cruise was too cool as a villain, and Jamie Foxx also did an incredible performance!
