maybe I shouldn't have used fantasy as a comparison, considering that Pan's Labyrinth is not actually a fantasy but a genre mixer. It also depends on how you interpret the film, it could just be... not gonna spoil it.

I haven't seen this film yet, but I really want to. I am a big fan of any type of fantasy film. I love Legend, Dragon Heart, The Mists of Avalon, Dragon Slayer, Lord of The Rings and probably any other fantasy film you can think of.

One of my favorate scenes is towards the beginning, as she goes towards the ruins and out of a hole crawls a large praying mantis and we realize the mantis is not a mir bug but something more, that when I knew I was in for something special

My favorite fantasy films are the Lord of The Rings triology. They are so visually spectacular that they can be watched again and again...and news things can be found.

My favorite scene from Pan's Labyrinth is the scene where Ofelia draws chalk on her floor to enter the room where the feast is laid out that she must not eat and where she encounters the child-eating monster who has eyes on his palms. Scary!

I agree with Off2Europe, I love when Ofelia retrieves the key from the Toad's belly.

This was a wonderful movie and I'm so glad I saw it first in the movie theaters. The scenery and the mood of the movie was outstanding. It's the kind of movie the more times you watch it, the more you catch. We were talking about it for days.
I can't tell my favorite part, it would spoil the movie. Personally, I wish I had never heard anything about the movie (from critics) and just went into the theater knowing where it was set and that it was a dark fantasy. |

I have not seen this movie yet but it sounds great. My favorite fantasy movie is LOrd of the Rings. Think the movies did well to keep to the story. I want a movie to play out like a book does in my mind and am very disappointed when it does not. Harry Potter's world in the books is awesome but the movies made it seem less like magic and more like cartoon feel.
