Every guy on the forum is going to hate me for saying this, but, I think Jessica Alba was the weakest part of the movie. Don't get me wrong, she's totally gorgeous; I just don't think she fit the part of Sue Storm all that well. Especially in the shadow of the fantastic chemistry between Chiklis and Evans.

I can see why people say Julian McMahon didn't make a good Doom, because he was kind of lame in the movie. However, I felt that everything McMahon did pre-Doom suit was totally awesome; he just really chewed up the scenery too much once he donned the suit.

As for the sequel, I really think that they need to focus on Doom and Latveria more. For those that aren't familiar with the comic, Victor Von Doom hails from the fictional country of Latveria, where he rules as a viscious, but oddly caring dictator. I think that this is without a doubt the most interesting and compelling thing about Doom. The fact that he comes off as a borderline evil tyrant, when he is, in fact, a highly effective leader. For that reason, Doom is my favorite supervillian of all time. Also, they need to throw in some science mumbo-jumbo about how his vocal cords are deteriorating, so he can start using his trademark super-deep voice.

The only things worthwhile in the film was Mike Chiklis. Evryone else in that film was hideously weak.

"But you said super-nove equals bad!" I loved Johnny. He was the funniest character ever, and I think he was played so well. A sequel, though? Maybe! I'd probably go see it.

Doom in the film was absolutely awful and not true to the character. The best version of Doom is Darth Vadar and he can't be topped. (Lucas basically admitted Vadar IS Doom as he pattern the character after Doom.)

Speaking of Jessica Alba, I really think also that she is great and sexy and just by her name, a movie would be a hit. I like action movies and this is one reason why I like her very much.
I hope there will really be a sequel to fantastic four and hope to know when it will come out...

Johnny was Johnny to a T. He captured the essence of Johnny's personality perfectly, and I loved Michael Chiklis' Ben Grimm. I adore the Thing, and have done since I was a little kid many, many, many years ago. He nailed Ben's character. Same with the other two, at least in my opinion. Reed was always kind of standoffish and Sue was a bit bland, at least back in the late 60's, early 70's.

There were rumors that she wasn't going to appear in the sequel but she squashed those rumors. Hurray!

I think most people have overlooked or forgotten the reason most 1st movies of a comic franchise seem less than blockbuster to true fans

IMO, the 1st movie has to introduce a new character or group of characters, villains and all, to a public that most havent ever heard of or know anything about the franchise, so they have to be brought in slowly and in a logical progression...

IMO, the 2nd movie of a franchise will make or break the franchise's future in movies, (ie: X-Men & Spiderman are two perfect examples)

IMO i think the writers of the fantastic Four 2 movie have picked a pretty good character and possible villain (Has everyone forgotten the creator of the Silver Surfer?) most FF fans like the Surfer and his boss

We shall see of course if the writers do a good job in the script, although the trailers so far have been pretty fantastic (pun intended)
