Default Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon:

What did you guys think of this movie? Although it came out awhile ago, I truly enjoyed it. First of all, it was very different than other American films. The actors and actresses were very original and had equal amount of parts that contributed to the storyline.

I especially liked the fighting scenes because they were very real. I think this movie was and is under-rated. Perhaps it's due to the fact that this is an Asian film.

Agree or disagree?

Never heard of that movie...

Why did you think the other movie was better than this one? More action? Love scenes? Hotter girls? LOL

Share with us please.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, House of Flying Daggers

It is hard for me to say which of these movies I like better than the other. They all take an original idea and frame it in that Asian style we all have come to love. There is always a seemlessness and fluidity to these movies that seems attractive to American audiences--probably because american movies are not made like this, thus accounting for their popularity amongst us Americans despite the subtitles.

The Actions scenes are less violent and more dance-like--they are visually exciting without the need for high explosives. Because of this I can't say which I like better, they are all have different plots and objectives, yet they all contain that asian feel that is refreshingly attractive.

If you haven't seen all of these I recommend all three.

I liked Crouching Tiger because the women kicked ass too. They weren't cowering simpletons who waited for the hero to save them. They were fully capable and willing to defend themselves.

I loved the philosophy of Hero. Is evil really so evil or if in it's propogation it does bring some good to the world? And then there is the question of if you had the opportunity to kill an evil tyrant, not would you but should you? Plus Jet li is one of my favorite actors.
