Default Renting vs Buying - who's doing what?

I always end up missing the movie in theaters, but now I've decided to rent them instead of buying them. Got my first movie video rental membership in years at Hollywood Video.

who's buying and who's renting and who's still going to the theater?

i buy what i love, but i usually watch them first. either for free at the theatre i used to work at, or i rent them at whatever video store in my area is cheapest.

I buy DVDs, I can't rent where I live because my late fees are just way too high because if I find a movie I really like it hurts to let go of it, I don't know if that's how anyone else feels, but that's how I feel.

Last movie I rented was Spartacus and I have a late fee so high on that, I will never step in that store again.

I've started only renting. I rarely watch DVDs more thanonce or twice and I have filled my house with DVDs.

I use netflix. I think it's a great value, not to mention convenience.

Buying movies is the only way to go. You pay 4x more and you get to keep it forever(compared to a week). I hate renting movies I feel like it is a waste of my money. I think Blockbuster and other movie rental companies are losing money due to this. Also now that most cable networks have OnDemand, what is the point of driving to blockbuster or even signing on your computer to go to netflix. I think we will see the rental industry fail in the near future!

I always thought renting was getting too expensive.

However, the best system is EASILY Blockbuster online. Not only do they allow three rentals at a time (and they are almost always in stock), the give you two coupons for a free rental at any store per month.

You really can't beat it.

I do not really ever rent I just buy movies because if you watch them 4 time in your life they have paid for themselves.
