Default Should HP Movies Be Split?

As we all know the last two movies of Harry Potter have two things in common. They were very long and still left out lots of the book. Now the next movie on this list is the longest of the series so far. It will almost certainly lose A LOT of content in its translation to the movies.

We have seen other movies like Kill Bill split up in the theaters to accomodate more length. I think this should be done for Harry Potter 5 as well. It would be a disrespect to the great book to condense it into two hours. The last two movies were pushing it as it was.

What do you guys think?

the books are getting longer. either the films will be 4+ hours or they are going to have to create a two-part film.

I'd prefer a two movie series. i hink the problem they'll find is the books are going to be very hard too divide in half. As an audidence you want the moviesto stand on their own.Im not sure you can split the book and make two movies that could be watched independently.

problem is that there's always going to be stuff left out of the book - look at the LOTR series and they STILL left stuff out!

for The Goblet of Fire, it was the director's desire to make the movie in two parts. however, the producers had the final word, and that was to fit the entire book in one movie. as much as we want to see The Order of the Phoenix translated into a two-part movie, it all depends on the producers.

The thing with movies like that is that it is so hard to find a place to just stop and go home. And I think I would kill someone if I had to wait six months for "part 2" to be released. It's hard enough waiting for each new movie as it is!

I agree theres no where you could really split the movie and make it stand ok alone. Its good the way they are, people should read the books before they go.

They should make it like three hours long. I mean it's Harry Potter! So people are going to see it regardless of length.
