There are already a lot of rumors about this.
J.K. Rowling replied in an interview once about it - she was asked why she should stop at book 7, and just go through Harry's whole life. She replied something like "you're so confident that Harry will live through it, huh?" If Harry were to die at book 7... I would say the book would be good or bad depending on the way of his death. But if the death was pointless then Rowling definitely took us for a ride.

I'm not sure that you would build a hero up only to have an anticlimactic ending. Unless, of course, he dies destroying Voldemort and saving the world.

I can't remember what I last heard on this.
For a while there were those that were sure that there would be more than 7 books. However, the latest reports claim the last book is thought out completely and will be the conclusion. flabbybuns |

True,
you have to appreciate any film/story willing to kill a major character (as long as it serves a purpose). flabbybuns |

Yes I agree flabbybuns (nice name btw! lol)
If they can kill the main character it means the rest of the story is strong enough to stand without him... unlike other movies/books where the story would just die if the main player was killed off. |

I hope she doesn't kill him off. I find it hard to believe she had the ideas of Sirius/Dumbledore dying before she got all the press coverage of Cedric's death. She's played on the controversy of GOF deaths too much. STOP WITH THE DEATHS, JK!

These are all guesses:
1. Harry finds true love with Ginny. Reasoning: Voldemort can't hurt someone protected by love. 2. Ginny's love for Harry will give him the courage to kick smoke out of Voldemort's behind. 3. Ron and Hermione FINALLY realize how much they mean to one another. I say they'll get married. 4. Snape returns to Hogwarts after proving his worth. He'll become the best DADA professor of them all. 5. Dumbledore will continue to give sage advice from one of the portraits. Okay, I'm done with the guessing.... |

I don't think Harry will die.
Since J.K Rowling does not want people trying to make following Harry Potter books, she will find a way of preventing this in the last chapter which she said would tell us about the future. That would also possibly elimanate a follow up book. |
