Favorite LOST Theories

Since just about everybody and their mother watches the television series lost 'religiously,' I was wondering what interesting theories people had or had found online for the show.

After the first season CanMag posted that LOST was taking place in Purgatory

What do you think? Any better theories come out since second season has began?

Well, they all seem quite reasonable to me. I mean, to be honest...I don't think I have any prediction about this but they all seem quite reasonable. I think that's what makes Lost good and addicting, it tries to make you guess what's going on and the type of environment it is.

Ok I can see maybe the purgatory theory. My mother and I think maybe it is some kind of science experiment/reality show to see how people survive under the "Lost" circumstances.

You know, that could make a lot of sense. It could be a science experiment/reality show to see how people survive under the "Lost" circumstances BUT...are they really allowed to do that? I mean, a lot of people have gotten hurt, and killed...but then again, it could be part of the show. A science experiment, that could be a high possibility but again, are they allowed to do that?

I completely agree on the Purgatory theory. There are so many hints to Catholicism all through the episodes and there are a lot of religious connections between the characters. If it is really Purgatory, so many things make more sense. It is a place to prove yourself for heaven.
They wouldn't beable to leave the island, until they let go of something from their past life. Example, Boone finally let go of his love for Shannon(when he had that trippy experience when she died and then suddenly didn't care after he "found her dead") resulting in his "death".
There are a few contradicting ideas, such as why isn't Rose off the island yet since she is so religious? Well i can't explain that...but it's just an idea.

Are Shannon and Boone gone forever? That would be quite a shame to see them go away, they were the main characters. Is that why they've replaced other characters? The other people that was on the other island, I'm talking about them. Anyway, all these theories are quite interesting to hear, most likely...it'll be a somewhat purgatory.

This is a really interesting theory - and I never knew that Lost had so many people coming up with such creative theories.

I like this purgatory idea, though I think it's a bit too far fetched for the writers to come up with. I think that the solution to lost is something a little bit more simple then we all think.

I have yet to see Lost Series 2, so Im attempting to avoid any talk on it at the moment

But as I am - a 'Lost' Fanatic - and I am looking forward to the new series.

I don't really have any theories, but me and my mates have been talking about it and one of them has this theory...

You know...I think that's a new one for me. I don't think I've ever heard of that before. It's an extremely good theory and I think it's possible. Wouldn't they be...ghost? Well, not exactly ghost but yeah...

Yes it's an interesting theory, but I think it's rather far-fetched...
Me personally, I don't have any clue on a theory, I just can't wait to see the next series
