Gaming Computer?

My father has one computer he uses only for games. he has it suped up with the best graphics cards etc for game play. Do you have a computer "just" for games?

Nope. I had computers for business and work, but not purely for games.

Though I HAVE blown up a few for gaming. Anyone remember those short-lifespan AGP cards?

Yeah. This computer has the last (I think) Radeon AGP card in it. I'm going to have to upgrade the mobo if I want a better card...

No, I dont. I still use AGP cards!

He probably over-clocked it into blowing up.

My computer I use for work, but it was made for gaming.

I have a place that can build a computer with all the components that an alienware offers at $3500, but it will only be about $1000. You purchase the parts from them at a cheap rate and they build the computer for you.

My computer I have now:
Pentium 4 3.2GHz Dual Core Processor
Some Intel Gaming Board with PCI-16x
Dual monitor graphics card from nVidea (cost $350)
2GB Ram
Windows XP Pro

Pretty sweet, hasn't let me down yet.

No, no, not really. I might have ABUSED it, to say the least, but not overclock it.

It was an old ASUS AGP card with a capture interface. Must've burned up rather quickly without airconditioning, but I've known some people who experienced the very same dilemma. It was supposed to be used for video editing, but in as short as a year it gave up.

I don't have a computer for gaming but my computer sure has the capability to play good games. If I would buy a coimputer just for games, I would just buy an X-box or a PS3. This consoles are really made for gaming and I wouldn't bother about the hardware for its built for games.
