first hear about Sin City? I remember skimming the books in the comic shops way back when. I'm surprised the series has been so successful!

I first heard about Sin City when it actually came out as a movie. I have never seen the original comic books. For those who have -- how close are the books and the movie? From what I've heard, it's a pretty darn good transfer to the big screen.
