There have been many attempts to bring a successful video game and have it become a blockbuster hit. Tomb Raider seems to be the only one to do this decently.
The newest try would be Silent Hill - a horror survival game and now a movie. Do you guys know anything about this movie? I played this video game as a kid, and I must say, it scared the living bejesus out of me. I'll be seeing this one. |

Not looking forward to it.
Wasn't there a movie after the game, Doom? I heard it was horrible. So horrible that my friends walked out during middle of the movie! Oh gosh, people should stick with original stories instead of remaking after games and books. So played out... |

Doom was indeed horrible. But Silent Hill looks like a decently made movie. The CGI looks a little terribly done though, and looks very...fake (not king kong budget though...so what do you expect).
I might see this just for the horror aspect and since I was a fan of the game. But no because it looks like a good film. |

I thought it was funny how IMDB put out as a joke that Uwe Boll was going to direct the Halo Movie.
Honestly, Silent Hill is going to turn up like Doom. Going to be watched by the hardcore fans on opening night, and then it will be forgotten. |

I've got a thing for Radha Mitchell, so unless the reviews are really bad, I'll be there.

Due to having a lot of work to do, I didn't manage to go see it with my husband and friends.
He came back and all he would say was, "It was so good." So apparently there's a good review for you. The "official" reviews aren't so good, or so I hear, but the people I know who have seen it absolutely loved it. I was so impressed with how much he was impressed with it that I wouldn't let him give me any spoilers. Someday when my life is my own again, maybe next week after all the deadlines are met, I think I may go see it. |
