Originally titled Behind the Mask before it was retitled to Young Hannibal.
- Actress Gong Li plays Lady Murasaki, the wife of Lecter's uncle and the woman responsible for creating Hannibal into such a cannibal.
- Production is supposedly set for September in Prague.
- It's said that actor Anthony Hopkins may make a small appearance in the film or have some sort of narrative role.
- Production was original said to begin in May of '05.
- Scouting locations will be held in Lithuania, The Czech Republic, and France.
- Based on the new novel by Thomas Harris, who is also writing the script.
- Produced by Dino and Martha De Laurentiis.
- The old title "Lecter Variations" referred to Bach's Goldberg Variations which have been a recurring musical reference in the Lecter saga to date.

So i assume this is to do with Hannibal and Silence of the Lambs in some ways??
