THis movie recently won an Oscar.
Its actually a documentary but it will be at the cinema this month. Its all about Emporer Penguins and their life and relationships. I think it will be just amazing, will anyone else be seeing this? |

yes i have seen the previews for this, it just looks out of this world (well it almost is!)
I cant believe they braved those freezing temps just to shoot this. I think they know they are going to absolutely rake in the money on this, so it will be worth it. |

Yea it is impressive that he braved the freezing cold. Always fun to learn a little more about animals. Should be a good one.

AWWWWWWWW! I LOVE PENGUINS!!!
I can't wait until it comes out! I saw a little preview of it on discovery channel and it looked so interesting and cute! ![]() Wow, I can't imagine how they made this film and what it took for the producers to create real life documents. How fantastic is that? I am just excited! ![]() |

I saw this at the theater back in November (plus or minus). There were some big action movies playing at the time. I enjoyed walking up to the window and asking for penguins instead. I wish there were more of these big nature show releases.
Probably just re-released due to the Oscar attention. It's a pleasant spectacle, and really makes you wonder why anything would live in those conditions. The penguins are like weird little people at times, only more likable. ;-) |

They're also doomed, expendable and cheap. There's a certain fatalism to nature shows. Inescapable. "March" tries to stay upbeat, but you just can't believe how miserable that life must be.
Another documentary I saw showed that for recreation, the penguins will push pebbles around with their beaks, sometimes for weeks at a time, sometimes in big groups. A sort of alien tic-tac-toe. And they don't get cable. Poor things. |

Penguins can never be doomed, they will live on in the countless zoos and animated scenes, until the time is right for their world domination. |

They've also been known to deliver beer while humming "Strangers in the Night".
During the final credits of "March", there are some cute behind-the-scenes interviews with some of the penguin stars. |
