I think the Halo games are pretty much overrated. Sure, it has nice graphics, but the gameplay is not anything too unique or original. It is probably the most popular game played on Xbox Live however.

A lot of people claim Halo is the sole reason to ever buy an XBox.

Having owned both consoles in college, I can easily say that XBox offered better gameplay than PS2.

In the case of PS3, Halo's importance may be the only chance XBox 360 has.

It has just been speculation so far, but you are right in that a Halo game is the only chance that the 360 will have to become the leader for the next-gen console wars.

Definatly not overrated. Halo is the best game that this system has to offer and is the face of the X-Box. How is it overrated? It is the best shooter out there...

Halo 3 has not been confirmed but you have to know they are making it. There is no way they won't. No way at all.

Halo 1 was a great and polished reinvention of old FPS themes and weaponry that defined the Xbox. The franchise has been flagged and is now the definite flagship Xbox Title. While it has never been an HL2 or a Fallout, it is definitely great for a console title.

I would say that it is the defining series of the Xbox, and the Xbox wouldn't have as many sales if it wasn't for the Halo series.

Hmm I think the original was overated, but the sequal honestly wasn't. It's a fantastic game, but I can't wait for it to be ported to PC because it's much easier using a mouse

Halo may not be the greatest game, but it certainly is one of the better FPS in a genre that has gotten very stale since the king of FPSs, Golden Eye.
