Pre-order may mean something to some. But, as long as there is still no
release date in sight, hard to get too excited.
For those of you who are on the Steam network,
you can now pre-order your own copy of Half-Life 2 on Steam's downloading
service.
Still No Date
Even though Steam is beginning to accept orders through download, this does
not mean they have pitched up an actual release date yet [it is still TBA].
The only perk to this is that when Half-Life 2 does get released
you will basically already have the game, plus Counter Strike: Source,
in your hands and ready to play.
Half-Life 2 Will Come in Multiple Versions
The standard retail release will offer six CD's for Half-Life 2
plus Counter Strike: Source. Each box will have one of the characters
on it including Gordon Freeman, Alyx, and G-man. If you are really into
keeping the box like it is a collectors item or something, then choosing
which character comes on the package may be important.
The Collector's Edition will come with one DVD that will include Half-Life
2, the original Half-Life with the new engine, and Counter
Strike: Source. The package will also include a T-Shirt and limited
strategy guide.
There will also be a Bronze, Silver, and Gold package with each tier offering
more to the user. For instance, the Gold Package will have Half-Life
2, the original Half-Life, Day of Defeat, complete
strategy guide, three Half-Life posters, a Half-Life 2 hat, Half-Life 2
stickers, and the soundtrack of Half-Life 2 on CD... Basically, all the
prime ellements to get any man laid.
Now, all we have to do is actually wait for the release of this thing. |
