Bruce Willis has been Busy this Year
Published October 26, 2004 in ACTORS

Willis is looking depressed. With the upcoming line up there should not
be too much to be depressed about. How's Demi?
It seems that Bruce Willis has been sort of busy
this year, even though his name is rarely mentioned. Willis seems to enjoy
taking on these different, or even cameo, roles instead of being the big
shot in front of huge blow-up blockbusters. Anyone remember his small appearance
in Charlie's Angles: Full Throttle?
Bruce Willis in Alpha Dog
It seems that Willis has joined up to be in the film Alpha Dog,
written and directed by Nick Cassavetes [directed John Q and The
Notebook, wrote the screenplay for Blow]. Willis will play
the father of the fact based character Johnny Truelove [or Jesse James Hollywood],
played by Emile Hirsch. Hirsch is probably best remembered from his role
as the high school senior who falls in love with an ex-pornstar in The
Girl Next Door.
Alpha-Dog is due out in theatres some time in 2005
Bruce Willis in Hostage
In Hostage, Willis plays as a retired LAPD hostage negotiator named
Jeff Talley, who becomes a police chief in a small town with relatively
little crime. However, after some time a simple burglary turns into the
robbers taking a family hostage. Unknown to the robbers is that the man
taken hostage is an accountant and works as a numbers pusher for a large
West Coast mob. Talley is forced to do what he promised he would never do
again, try to negotiate a volatile situation where many can be hurt.
Hostage is being presented by Miramax films with Florent Emilio
Siri behind the camera. It will be no surprise if you have not heard of
Siri who is known for directing on video games such as Splinter Cell.
Hostage is set to hit theatres on January 21, 2005. So where is
our trailer?
Bruce Willis in Dimension's Sin City
Sin City is based on the Sin City stories [Sin City,
The Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastard] by Frank Miller.
The premise behind the film is a collection of interweaving stories all
based in the corrupt, crime infested metropolis called Basin City. The main
storylines involve a man called Marv, played by Mickey Rourke, who is seeking
the murderer of a beautiful woman who was killed while asleep in bed with
him; an ex-photographer called Dwight, played by Clive Owen who became famous
from BMW films, who accidentally kills a hero cop and has to cover it up;
and a retiring policeman named Hartigan, played by Bruce Willis, who is
incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit.
Sin City is directed by Frank Miller, the creator of the story
and first directing debut, and Robert Rodriguez [known for Desperado,
Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Spy Kids].
Sin City will hit theatres on April 1, 2005
Bruce Willis in Over the Hedge and Ocean's Twelve
These two roles will not be as large for Willis. The first film, Over
the Hedge, is directed by Tim Johnson [Antz] and about a con-artist
raccoon who moves to a forest that faces encroachment from human communities.
RJ, the raccoon voiced by Willis [initially Jim Carrey], will join up with
a turtle named Vern [voiced by Gary Schandling] as he teaches them the advantages
of crossing the hedge that separates the humans from the forest and scavenging
off the remains of food left by humans. However, the humans also seem to
be pushing along the hedge, which means further endangerment to the animals
forest.
Bruce Willis will only have a cameo role in Ocean's Twelve. This
role has been mentioned without any details as of yet on what or who Willis
will be playing as.
Over the Hedge will be released to theatres on May 19, 2005
Ocean's Twelve is done shooting and set for release on December
10, 2004
Not a bad line up for Willis after all. |
