Owen Wilson will be the voice of Lightning McQueen. Metrosexual?
I am sure you have seen the commercials by Chevron
that use the animated cars and trucks. You know, the ones with eyes and
mouths. Well, with the release of The Incredibles, Pixar will be
attaching the teaser trailer for its next project, Cars. Those
of you that see the trailer [I'm assuming a lot will] should immediately
be somewhat reminded of the old Chevron commercials; except for the fact
that the eyes are in the windshield [instead of the headlights] and their
is more CGI involved.
Pixar Offers Preview of Cars
First off, Cars Will be the last film collaborated by both Disney
and Pixar. After Cars, Pixar will be flying solo. Even though the
film will not be released until November of next year, Pixar and Disney
are working to hype up the fact that John Lasseter [The Incredible's
executive producer; directed Toy Story 2] is in the director's
chair.
The film is about a race car named Lightning McQueen [voiced by Owen Wilson]
who gets lost on the way to a race and, instead finds himself in the broken
down town of Radiator Springs. Here he learns what it really means to be
a car.
Pixar is already claiming that Cars will have CGI animation that will raise
the bar on computer-animated movies. Lasseter claims that everything will
'look so real.'
As mentioned above, this will be the last film collaborated by Disney and
Pixar. The duo is credit for: Toy Story, Toy Story 2,
A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo.
Not a bad run, now it is time to see what Pixar can do on its own [which
I have no doubt].
