It would seem that some fans did not have to wait
for the release of Halo 2 for X-Box as some Meijer stores [located
in places such as Michigan and Illinois] are allegedly selling the game
already. Talk about beating the rush!
Get Halo 2 for X-Box Early
No, you cannot get Halo 2 early. Even though some of the lucky fans bought
extra quantities of the game and tried to re-sell them on Ebay; talk about
giving away the secret! Ebay has recently put all listed Halo 2
games on hold and will not allow further postings. Bungie and Microsoft
are not exactly wavered by this news, as they have already made a successful
return on pre-orders alone [around 80 million dollars]. I did not pre-order
the game but plan to buy it as soon as it hits the shelves. I really wanted
to wait till Christmas, but some things just cannot be waited for. If anybody
gets in my way I will take them down with the melee button... what did I
say?
Microsoft also expects an increase in X-Box console sales due to the popularity
that Halo 2 should, and will, bring. However, X-Box is still far
behind PS2 on console sales but maybe things are about to change. Another
game that will bring more attention to the X-Box console will be the release
of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 [the sequel to the
Game of the Year]. The holidays have never looked brighter for Microsoft.
