Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the darkest of the
three films currently released.
A quick update for the Harry Potter lovers
out there [myself included, for the books at least]. In an interview between
ComingSoon.Net and producer David Heyman, Heyman says that Harry Potter
and the Goblet of Fire will be the last screenplay written by Steven
Kloves.
Steven Kloves Moves Over for Michael Goldenberg
Steven Kloves is credited for writing the screenplays for all of the Potter
films to date. Michael Goldenberg, on the other hand, does not have such
a cool profile. His last screen play was a definite miss-the-mark film titled
Peter Pan [yes, the latest one to hit theatres]. Hopefully, with
a Potter novel in front of him, he will write up a successful screenplay
for the longest, and largest, Potter book to date. I enjoyed Kloves
screenplay adaptations for Potter, but do have some major complaints when
it comes to some of the details of the last film, Harry Potter and the
Prisoner of Azkaban. For my review on the film, CLICK

I wouldn't even begin to worry about it yet. Who knows, there could be another
writer along the way. Considering that Harry Potter and the Order of
the Pheonix doesn't come out till late 2007. On a further note, Michael
Goldenberg was the person who wrote the screenplay for Contact
with Jodie Foster. I heavily enjoyed this film even though it only got soso
press. Ok, maybe that doesn't help.
Lets get serious. The next Potter film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is due out on November 18, 2005. |
