Matt Newton may get a second shot at Anakin
Now that
Star Wars Revenge of the Sith is beating down doors at
the box office, it is time for Lucas, and us, to look forward at our next
Star Wars adventure-- the live action television series.
Star Wars Television Series
What we do know about the upcoming Star Wars
television series is that we do know that it is exactly 100 one-hour episodes,
will NOT feature any of the main characters from the Star Wars
universe, and takes place in between Star Wars Episode III and
Episode IV: A New Hope. As of now, even though the show is supposed
to air within a year, it seems that no cast has been selected to play parts....
until now.
According to a report from the Herald
Sun, it seems that Lucas has been looking at the Aussie Matt
Newton to fill the shoes of Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. According to the
report, Lucas had already looked at Matt to play Anakin for the Star
Wars films, but he became second to Hayden Christensen.
Well, it seems that it is now Matt's second chance,
as it is reported that Matt Newton has already gone through an availability
check with the Star Wars television series and has recently met
with George Lucas at his Skywalker Ranch. And, considering that the Star
Wars television series will be filmed in Sydney, Matt Newton has already
got his location figured out.
Stay tuned for more Star Wars television updates. For the whole report,
head over to the Herald
Sun.
For the sake of keeping track, I have decided to put all Star Wars
television updates under the Revenge
of the Sith Movie Page. |
