Brian Cox in X2: X-Men United.
With a filmography to the stature of Brian Cox's
you can't help to like the guy. Cox and I have been cool ever since his
appearance in Braveheart [yes, I know he was the original Hannibal],
and his stock has only continued to rise with films such as X-Men 2,
Super Troopers and the Bourne series. Considering how
much I like Cox and how easy it is to enjoy any HBO original series, it
is wonderful to hear that Cox will be joining the cast of Deadwood
for the third season.
Deadwood Cast Gets Cox
Deadwood is such a gritty and realistically
dirty show that one usually takes a long bath after watching it. Wild Bill
was the man, but then took a slug to the back of a head. Al Swearengen is
tough as nails, but almost bites it to a mean case of kidney stones. Alma
Garret has surprisingly great breasts. Just by shaking hands with a whore
at Al's saloon and you are bound to walk out with a mean case of syphilis.
Timothy Olyphant is surprisingly excellent in the role of a lifetime as
Seth 'Montana' Bullock.
Deadwood has got it all and now it also has Brian Cox too.
According to a report from thehollywoodreporter,
Brian Cox has recently agreed to play the role of Jack Langrishe, an eccentric
producer and theater owner who strives to introduce a modicum of culture
to the mean streets of the South Dakota. The only problem is that the only
culture these folks know is drinking, mining, killing and f@*king. Now that
is culture!
Deadwood is scheduled to begin production
of 12 new episodes later this year, with the debut of Season 3 set for 2006
on HBO.
