Purchase the Complete First Season from Amazon
Though I spend relatively little time in front
of a television set, one hour I know to dedicate is that for the ABC series
LOST. With a cast that fits, even in the most extreme situations,
a story that effectively uses 'ghosts', myth, superstition and a monster,
you and a cult-like following, ABC definitely knows they hit the mark with
this one.
All summer we have been receiving emails from readers about our own LOST
theory [read here] and all the other tons of theories posted all over the
net. This show has hit the spot and, though relatively few questions were
answered by the end of the first season finale, the fever of the fans has
never been higher. What is in the hatch? What's up with Kate? We have new
cast additions [Michelle Rodriguez for one]… how did they survive?
So many new questions and, again, very little answers. However, EW takes
a shot and visits the crew of LOST in their special Fall Television
Preview.
LOST Mysteries
In their latest double issue, Entertainment Weekly
serves up an impressive Fall Television Preview with the highlight being
their coverage of LOST. The magazine also features a foldout seating
chart and character summary for each of the 'big' castaways; a must for
anyone desperately looking to refresh their memories [you can also purchase
the DVD by clicking the box image].
Perhaps the biggest LOST question of all is whether its phenomenal hot streak can last. Last season, the freshman drama seemed to have all the markings of a small cult hit (a sprawling cast, mind-boggling mythology, copious love from critics), yet it managed to hook a big cult of viewers, 16 million per week. It earned 12 Emmy nominations-including Outstanding Drama Series for O'Quinn and Naven Andrews-and prompted other networks to launch a host of new sci-fi series this fall.
Speaking of which… who is going to go next? While Internet spoiler hounds say a female cast member will perish this fall, producers aren't talking. "There will be more death," Lindelof says. "But," Cuse adds, "we've gotten to a place where we don't want to go on record like, 'Three actors are going to die.' It makes everyone really uncomfortable."
My biggest question, for now, is how thehell did the new castaway played by Michelle Rodriguez survive the flight? Since she is most likely to appear in the Second Season, we should probably expect to see a survival story of what to do when you fall out of the back of a plane.
For all the LOST goodness, head over to your local newsstands or
the EW Website. With LOST, ROME, Entourage and
Over There, could be a busy television season indeed [catching
up with TIVO].
LOST: The Complete First Season will hit store shelves on September
6th.
Stay tuned for updates.
