LOST Season 2 opener is coming tonight
to ABC! Just in case you some how forget, there it is. I am almost finished
watching the entire first season of LOST for a second time and
should hopefully be closing it out by tonight or tomorrow. However, thought
I throw out a few additions to our LOST theory.
LOST Theory Additions
If you have yet to read my theory for what is really
going on in LOST, then quickly click
here and come back to this article when you are done. If you
have, then you already know that the main thesis to the entire theory is
that all of the characters died in the plane crash, and the island represents
Purgatory. Yes, I know Purgatory is a belief that derives mostly from Catholics,
which is why the show mentions Catholicism on multiple occasions. Remember,
Hurley's mother reminds him that he is Catholic, and the new stash of heroine
is encased in none other than the Virgin Mary.
However, there are a couple things I overlooked in the last theory. One
such element is the imagery of light vs. dark. They like to play backgammon,
a game that faces white against black. Jack finds a bag with two stones
in the cave-- one white, one black. When Claire Littleton has her dream,
she runs into Locke sitting at a desk. When he looks over at her, one eye
is black and the other is white. Does this use of black and white [dark
vs. light] serve as imagery of Heaven vs Hell?
Another final note I would like to look at is a
few pieces of dialogue from the show... take it either way:
The way I see it... we died in that plane crash. -Jack to
Kate
What? You think bandaging me up buys your ticket into Heaven?
-Sawyer to Jack
Nobody survived Flight 815. -Static to come through the radio
in downed plane
Alright, I am done for a bit. Enjoy the Season 2 opener of LOST
tonight. Oh yeah, YES, I don't care what the actors say,
I still think it is Purgatory.
