Who here was thrilled when they watched the two-hour season finale of 24 and got to watch the First Lady finally screw President Logan; both literally and figuratively. Take that!
Well, since Season 5 of the popular Fox series is considered the best yet, there are those ready to have a taste of the success. And, considering that we are guaranteed another 72 hours from the show, Fox is ready to make adjustments before Jack ever lands in China.
Jon Cassar for 24
According to Variety, Jon Cassar, the director behind many of the Season 5 episodes of 24, has sealed a new deal with 20th Century Fox.
Under terms of the one-year deal (with an option for a second), Cassar has been promoted to exec producer on the show. He'll still direct key episodes but will cut back on his 24 workload so he also can develop projects and helm at least one pilot for the studio.
Kiefer Sutherland also has a production deal at 20th, and Cassar said he's already kicking around ideas with the 24 star for new series they may want to do together.
"We enjoy working with each other, and share head space on ideas and projects. We've been talking for a year now about doing something," he said.
Cassar said he and Sutherland have several ideas in the hopper but haven't determined yet what they may pursue.
"That is our best case scenario -- when two incredibly talented people develop a relationship, and the net result is a fantastic piece of development," said 20th Century Fox TV prexy Dana Walden. "That's a win for the studio."
I have to admit that Season 6 is looking to be the coolest 24 yet. Genius on whoever thought of pulling Jack out of the states and placing him on foreign soil. Jack has proved to us that he is a super-agent, but just how super is he without the technology leading him along?
