Tonight we start the good stuff. We get to know the girls better in both group dates and an individual date. Now we’ll see just how crazy they are.
The Bachelor Rome- Rundown #2
Chris welcomes the girls and congratulates them on being in the final 12. He informs them this week there will be two group dates and one individual date. The group dates are always entertaining to see who tries to get the most alone time with the bachelor and who makes an absolute fool of themselves. In each of the group dates Prince Lorenzo will choose one of the girls to receive a rose to be automatically in the final 9.
The rules for the individual date are if the bachelor chooses not to present the girl with a rose at that time she goes home immediately. That would be a really bad date.
The first group date is Erica (who complained to Chris about having to share a room and having no maid service-maybe this is a reality show), Jami, Ellen, Sadie and Agnese. They tour the Coliseum then take scooter rides around the city. Erica claims her license is expired so she must ride tandem with Lorenzo. She takes this time to tell him all about her dating history. The other girls are not happy with this ploy. After the scooter rides Lorenzo tells the girls they are to choose a dress from a rack of dresses and they are having a cocktail party. We saw a lot of bras and breasts as they are trying on dresses. They all proceed to have champagne on the balcony. The amount of alcohol consumed on this show is staggering. Jami is discussing her tattoos with Lorenzo. Erica tells him Jami wouldn’t be a good match because she didn’t even go to college and how could she possibly have an intelligent conversation with him. Lorenzo tells her in no uncertain terms he doesn’t judge people like that and doesn’t think she should either – she’s a goner for sure right? Lorenzo chooses Sadie as his best conversation of the night and gives her the rose. Sadie is our 23 year old virgin who is saving herself for marriage, but has chosen not to divulge that information to Lorenzo. Our socialite Erica goes off the deep end crying when Sadie gets the rose. Such great television!
Lorenzo and Lisa go on their individual date to Villa Borghese Park. Pretty nice to have a park named for your family. They talk about themselves and past relationships. He thinks a person getting married to make some imagined time limit is wrong. It’s at this point Lisa decides not to tell him about her “5 year plan”. Since she doesn’t reveal this tiny secret about her, Lorenzo has had such a good time on the date he gives her the rose.
The second group date is Jennifer, Sarah, Kim, Desiree, Gina and Jeanette. They take a spectacular helicopter ride over Rome. Italy is so amazingly beautiful. They land at a villa on the beach. Does it get any better than this? Desiree, the sexpot, is thrilled Lorenzo has his shirt off. They are playing football on the beach. It is the blonde bombshells against the brilliant brunettes. Sarah’s bathing suit bottom is pulled down in the action and we get the fuzzy circle over her buns. Jennifer asks Lorenzo to tell her about himself. She shares with him she was a cheerleader and gives him a little cheer. Desiree is back to calling him baby, but the Prince says he likes it. During this day long beach adventure there is much drinking going on – the producers know you get better television when you ply women with liquor. Kim is so drunk she passes out. When she awakens she is cursing and incoherent. That will make a great impression. Jennifer gets the rose from the date, must have been the cheer.
Back at their villa later in the evening, Agnese tells Lorenzo American girls are crazy and scream too much. She says she will learn better English to communicate with him. He assures Agnese her English is better than his Italian. She then leans in for the kiss. Lisa steals Lorenzo away to be alone with him, but she already knows she is staying. I guess she is trying to cement her position. The claws are beginning to come out as she comments to him “you just don’t know what Ellen and Sadie are talking about”. Desiree and Jami (the trouble makers) go up to Lorenzo’s room and start going through his things. They are touching his boxers – yikes! They proceed to crawl into his bed when our bachelor shows up and gets in bed with them. The rest of the girls come dashing into the room and the dancing and cavorting begins.
It is now time for the rose ceremony. Lisa, Sadie and Jennifer are already safe so there are 6 more roses to give out. The first rose goes to Jeanette – I’m not sure I’ve heard her say two words to Lorenzo. Followed by Desiree who chimes out her “ooh baby” and our bachelor says “You’re a total nut but I love it”. What is he into anyway? The next recipients are Jami, Gina, Agnese (so much for the language barrier), and finally Erica. Erica was standing shaking in disbelief that she had yet to receive a rose. When she walks up to accept it she tells Lorenzo “wise choice”. She is such the spoiled psycho. This has to be the producers at work. After discovering their differences earlier she should have her socialite butt on the next plane home. But wacky makes good entertainment. There are tears from the losers as they tell Prince Borghese goodbye.
As the show closes Jami is teaching Agnese American slang – what a marvelous culture exchange. Can’t wait until next week so we can see how far each of these girls is willing to go to be “the one”. But for now, Ciao.
