Studio 60 from the Sunset Strip is a character show, so you’d think the detail in the actors’ facial performances would dominate its HD presentation. The actors are actually all in soft focus. It’s an interesting choice, and doesn’t hinder the dramatic effect. It makes all the faces look solid, glossy, beautiful and perfect. A set like the JVC HD-56G786 creates great subtle details but when it’s polished like that, it just shines.
Studio 60 from the Sunset Strip in HD
It’s the set details that really become subtle when the JVC set plays Studio 60. The halls of the writers’ office, dressing rooms and corporate boardrooms are full of little details and background colors to liven up the dialogue driven riffs. There’s usually something kooky going on behind the banterers.
The show comes to life the most when we get to see sketches. When Studio 60 cuts to a bit, the stages come to life, the costumes stand out. It’s like the Wizard of Oz fantasy world which is what the show represents.
