It is Meet the Parents night for the final four. Some don’t speak English; some are sportin’ shotguns – a good time to be had by all.

The Bachelor Rome- Rundown #5

The first hometown date is to Sadie’s San Diego. Her last words to him as they go off to meet her parents are “Don’t say anything lame”. Huh? I thought this was about him being himself and seeing how she is with her family. Sadie’s family has a darling home. Lorenzo meets her Mom, Dad, sister and friend. Before dinner they are talking about their spa date when Lorenzo let Sadie fly the plane. (See episode 4) Sadie’s Mom asks Lorenzo what he is looking for in a girl. He replies honesty and someone to be his best friend that he can trust. Good answer! Sadie has some alone time with her Mom in the kitchen and tells her our prince reminds her of her Daddy because he seems to put others first. Lorenzo and Sadie then go for a walk on Moonlight Beach and share a kiss by a bonfire. She asks him not to go to the other cities – he said so I should just pick you? Earth to Lorenzo, that’s what they all want.

Now it is off to Portland where tree-hugging Lisa lives. Lorenzo tells us his first physical and emotional reaction was to Lisa. Upon arriving at her home she has paints ready for them to paint a fresco above her fireplace. Her friend Ali shows up with a wedding dress for her to try on and spills her guts to Lorenzo about Lisa’s timeline. As Lisa models the dress for Lorenzo he is freaking out. There are bridal magazines on the coffee table – run Lorenzo run! They are off to her parent’s house to meet her Dad, Mom and brother. They have dinner. Lisa’s Dad says he knows what a list maker and planner she is. People think this five year plan thing is normal. Lisa shows her Dad the earrings she received from Lorenzo, while her mother the pilates instructor has our prince on the living room floor immediately after dinner learning pilates – can we say wacky? Lisa and Lorenzo share a kiss goodbye. He expresses concerns to us about her agenda – does she just want to get married or want to marry him?

Lorenzo arrives in Miami to see Jennifer. These girls live in beautiful cities – no Cleveland. They go out on a fishing boat and Jen catches a baby shark. She kisses the little guy good-bye and they release him. Lorenzo and Jen begin to kiss on the boat. Jen warns Lorenzo her dad has guns and she is the only child. They arrive to meet Mom, Dad and the dog. Jennifer gives her Dad a big hug and says she is “Daddy’s little girl”. At dinner Dad asks Lorenzo “Are you worthy of my daughter?” Her parents can not imagine that this is how she would find a husband. Dad shows Lorenzo his shotguns and says there would be used if someone treated his daughter inappropriately – a situation he called it. Situation? That’s threat of bodily harm. Once again – run Lorenzo run.

Lorenzo is back in Italy for the final visit with Agnese’s family in Venice. He is quite worried about the communication issue. Trying to get to know people and have dinner with a family that doesn’t understand you – sounds like fun to me. Agnese feels she is falling for Lorenzo. Venice is spectacular. Agnese shows our bachelor the hospital where she was born and the church she would like her wedding. They are taking a gondola ride and kiss. They arrive at her home to meet her Mom, Dad, brother and sister. Only her Dad speaks a little English. But his little English is better than our prince’s Italian. At dinner Lorenzo says he wishes he spoke Italian. He is trying to have some conversation with Agnese’s father. Basically, the rest of the family is smiling and nodding. They begin dancing after dinner. They are a fun family. Lorenzo kisses Agnese good-bye and tells us the date was better than he thought it would be.

The Rose Ceremony gives us four girls and three roses. Lorenzo tells them this is his most difficult choice because they are the best four girls he could have picked. The first rose goes to Sadie, followed by Jen – two blondes. Chris comes in and makes the stupid statement this is the final rose. The rose goes to Lisa. Agnese says good-bye to everyone. She is crying and visibly upset. Lorenzo did the most princely thing I’ve seen to date – he tells her it is his fault he can’t speak Italian and she is a wonderful girl. That’s chivalry.

We then have our socialite Erica complaining the remaining girls are some variation of vanilla milkshakes and she would have been a champagne milkshake. Does she still think she has a chance?

Next week will be the overnight dates. Who will share a room with our bachelor overnight? We shall see - ciao baby!
