Merger mania is on the minds of our survivors. The plotting, the aligning, the realigning, the campaigning to save themselves – Survivor is OUTWIT – Outplay - Outlast - right?

Survivor Cook Islands Rundown #7

Nate is taking full advantage of listening in on Aitu dissecting what happened at tribal council. Flica is expressing her surprise at Cao Boi being voted off. She said she voted for Jonathan and thought others were doing the same. Guys you are feeding information to the other tribe. Argue in private ok? Yul, Candice and Becky are rethinking their order to vote people off. They are worried about both Jonathan and Ozzy as individual threats.

Each tribe receives tree mail. It is a survivor catalog of foods from which they can choose two items that would be theirs if they win the reward challenge. Each tribe picks three swimmers and two puzzle makers. The swimmers are to swim with a club out to a platform then climb it. When jumping off the platform use the club to break a hanging tile that holds a key. They retrieve the key and swim with it to shore. Each key opens the puzzle pieces that form a map of the world. Aitu chooses to sit out Nate since they can’t rely he will not sabotage their efforts. Rebecca is so exhausted after swimming out she can not dive for the keys. Ozzy is able to break the tile and catch the key before it ever hits the water. Sometimes you can just be too good – Ozzy you are looking like such the threat competing in individual challenges. Aitu wins the challenge. Adam is sent to Exile Island.

Back at camp Aitu is enjoying their peanut butter. Candice is saying “I love everybody now” as she and Flica share a peanut butter kiss.

After the challenge Nate goes back with the Raro tribe. He is frustrated he wasn’t able to compete for his tribe. He is also pissed at Brad for choosing to be a puzzle maker instead of a swimmer. He should have been a swimmer instead of Rebecca.

In the morning Ozzy brings a bird to camp that he caught while out “visiting nature”. Yul kills it and there is bird for breakfast. They are now referring to Ozzy as “jungle boy”. Candice, Flica and Ozzy are working on an alliance. No one seems to trust Jonathan. Ozzy is asking what the tribe will eat if they vote him off.

Adam returns from his night on Exile Island for the immunity challenge. Jeff notes it was one of the most miserable in Survivor history. Aitu chooses to sit Jonathan out from the challenge. Each tribe is to build a staircase with logs of progressive heights. The tribe then climbs the stairway where one of the members slides down a zip line to retrieve a bag from a barge. These bags containing puzzle pieces are to be brought back to a mat on the beach. When all the bags are returned to the beach the puzzling can begin. Aitu is leading throughout the challenge, but at the end Raro wins on its puzzle building skill. Finally, a win for Raro.

At Aitu’s camp the jockeying for position begins in earnest. All the tribe members are saying they trust Jonathan the least. Ozzy then asks the obvious “If no one trusts him why is he still here?” Jonathan sensing something is up is talking up the fact he feels Flica should go. Cut to video of little rats scurrying around.

Tribal Council time.

Jeff asks if ethnicity plays any part in how people get along, in alliances or voting. The tribe assures him that personality is far more important than ethnicity. Jeff then asks Flica (Jessica) how she feels everyone gets along. She says she loves to go out fishing with Ozzy, the other girls do stuff in camp and Yul and Jonathan go clamming. Jeff tells the tribe to take note how Flica is always happy and her comments never have anything to do with strategy. But perhaps not being enough of a gamer is her demise as Flica is unanimously voted out by her tribe.

Now each tribe has 6 members and who holds the momentum? Will Brad’s choice to not be a swimmer lose the tribe’s trust? Will there be another change up of tribes before the merge? What will the magic number for a merge be?

Stay tuned as the survivors try their best to Outwit-Outplay-Outlast.
