Heroes Heroes

When you have a show that shoots right clean off the cool charts (for television at least) you can't help but get excited about every new development, update, spoiler and cast addition.

Though we wish we could tell you who the hell Sylar is -- though we do have some thoughts below in the fun fact -- we have a pretty damn cool (what else would it be?) scoop that mentions the addition of Dr. Who to the Heroes cast.

Christopher Eccleston Joins Heroes

Which is cooler: third season of LOST or Heroes? Though Lost's last episode before the holiday break was pretty great and featured the best acting you will ever see on television, Heroes has been stealing a lot of thunder from shows such as this. Where am I going with this? Nowhere really, just more support for how rad Heroes is.

Coming back to the point, 'Sarah' has recently alerted us to a scoop posted over at TVGuide (link discovered by SHH). According to TVGuide's Michael Ausiello, Christopher Eccleston will be joining the cast of Heroes in January in a super-cool role.

Ausiello: Fanboys, prepare to piddle yourself. Christopher Eccleston — the original Dr. Who from the current Sci Fi/BBC series — is joining the cast in January in a really super (tee-hee) role. Speaking of cool casting, wait until you see who's ******* ****'s ****. You're going to flip.

Christopher Eccleston Christopher Eccleston: The face of Sylar?
Here is a challenge to our readers:

Find out what the hell Michael covered up with those stars. Who else can we expect? If you think you figured it out, be sure to contact me at the address below.

Though I obviously have no grounds on this prediction, I would have to assume that Eccleston is Sylar. His face fits the look of what we have seen under the hat and, well, nobody else is fitting the bill so far.

The only thing that doesn't match up is EW's report that we can expect to see Sylar by the show's holiday break on December 4th. They hint that the actor's name is more than ten points in Scrabble, which Christopher Eccleston's most definitely is.

Either way, Sylar says bring your own glass of Chianti to the next brain-eating.

Heroes airs at 9PM on Monday nights on NBC.

Stay tuned for updates.

Claire's father, Mr. Bennett: good or evil?

The answer to all this most likely comes down to Sylar.

The tide has switched, however, in Bennett's disposition. Though the earlier episodes suggested that Mr. Bennett was definitely trouble, the last couple show that not only does he care for Claire and want to protect her, he seems to have a good knowledge of these 'heroes' and wants to help them. That is, if he isn't lying.

But what is Mr. Bennett doing by kidnapping 'heroes'. Two possibilities here. It is obvious now that whatever he and his ebony henchbuddy do to each captured hero, the result is an increase to that heroes' powers. Matt Parkman could read people's thoughts sometimes, now he can hear them all the time. He is so strong, in fact, that he can't control his power nor block people's thoughts.

Why does Mr. Bennett give a boost in powers? Two plausable reasons: (1) give these 'heroes' a fighting chance against Sylar or (2) give Sylar even more power when he steals a character's power by taking, eating or doing whatever he does with the brain.

Odds that Mr. Bennett is Good: 70% chance of goodness.
