It’s down to three for the overnight dates.
Will he send home the virgin, daddy’s little girl or the psycho marriage
obsessed tree-hugger?
The Bachelor Rome- Rundown #6
I would sign up for the bachelor just to get a free trip to the fabulous
locals of the dates. Our first overnight date is with Jennifer to Sweden.
As she drives up in a Volvo (now that’s product placement!), Lorenzo
is hoping she will open up to him more as she has a difficult time sharing
her emotions. They go to an amusement park thinking this will help. Jen
tells us in an aside she is falling for our prince. They ride all the rides
and play the carnival games. Only in Sweden would there be an ice bar at
an amusement park. They order a drink which comes in a glass carved out
of ice. Lorenzo asks Jen if she would move to New York if their relationship
went further. She replies of course, she could teach anywhere and she would
be happy as long as her family could visit whenever they liked. Isn’t
that what every guy wants to hear about potential in-laws – especially
the ones with guns? They are sharing stories about past loves. Jen tells
Lorenzo she has been in love twice. The first time was at 16 a young first
love thing. The second time was in college and she opines these things make
you stronger. Lorenzo relates he feels what makes a relationship work is
to have fun and never take each other for granted. During dinner he gives
her the note inviting her to spend the night with him in the fantasy suite.
She replies yes. They arrive in the suite to champagne and strawberries.
We end the night with the obligatory hot tub scene. Lorenzo and Jennifer
are kissing – what beyond that – you decide.
Our next date is with Lisa in Budapest, Hungary. Lorenzo tells us the hometown
date with Lisa, learning about her timeline, really bothered him. You think?
He is trying to decide what her real motivation is. They go to a wine festival.
There is lots of wine tasting. Lorenzo asks Lisa about hearing she is a
huge fan of “The Bachelor”. She says she has watched all of
them, but thinks most of the bachelors were ‘tools’. He then
asks Lisa about her past loves. She tells him she has been in love twice.
In college she had a 31/2 year relationship which lost its passion and she
fell for another guy. Fell for another guy when you are already involved
with someone – this does not show good character now does it? Lorenzo
raises his eyebrow. He also asks her how after her relationship being over
for only three weeks she could sign up for the bachelor. This is not looking
good.
Our prince then asks if she would move to New York.
Lisa replies she doesn’t know. OK three strikes you’re out.
YET, she accepts the invitation to the fantasy suite and they are lying
on the bed kissing and drinking champagne. Lisa then proceeds to tell Lorenzo
how great the night will be and the lights go out. AGHHHHHH! Some people
will stop at nothing.
Our last date is off to Sicily with Sadie. Lorenzo tells us she is so funny
and he loves the way she makes him feel. They are lounging in robes by the
pool drinking champagne. This is followed by scuba diving lessons in the
pool. Somehow they manage to kiss even with the scuba gear. Next they are
having massages from a masseuse, and then are giving them to each other.
Sadie tells us she is falling for Lorenzo. All through dinner Sadie is worrying
what she will do about the fantasy suite invitation. She is a virgin after
all. I was impressed by Lorenzo once again as he thanks the waiter when
he poured him a drink.
They come to a conclusion: everything he wants in a relationship is everything
she wants. Lorenzo tells Sadie he is offering the fantasy card with no stings
or expectations. She chooses to take the card. They will have a respectful
night of talking and kissing.
It is time for the rose ceremony and Lorenzo wants to get it over with because
it will be difficult for him. The first rose is given to Sadie. See, good
girls don’t finish last. The last rose goes to Jen.
Lisa says her goodbyes. Lorenzo explains there were too many problems with
Lisa. The timeline was a huge part of the problem. Lisa is crying, crying,
and crying. She is so upset in the limo she can’t even talk. She will
be lots of fun next week at the tell all right? You know what they say,
“Hell hath no furry…”
Until next week when the claws come out and the hair is pulled – ciao!
