Heroes Petrelli does all he can to save the cheerleader
Have you been watching Heroes? Well, if you haven't, you may have missed one of the coolest episodes to ever to be released to television. Facing what looked to be imminent death, young Petrelli faces his fate painted earlier on a piece of canvas.

In short, the show continues to kick genetic ass.

Heroes Strikes Television with a Homecoming

After giving us a surprise twist by the end of just about every episode, NBC followed through with their promise to give Sylar a full introduction and a culmination that settled the most popular phrase on television, "Save the Cheerleader."

Action, big-budget special effects, and actors who finally understand their characters is just a few of the things that make Heroes a hit and episode 9, Homecoming, one of the greatest hours on television.

(spoilers ahead)

Mohinder, who has been hanging out away from New York back at home, has finally come to realize his destiny and will, uh, return to New York. Though his character has made a self-discovery and found a list of those who could have special abilities, he might be back at square one.

Since the episode was so pivotal, every character gets a moment save the mind-hearing police officer; who looks like he will be back from suspension next week.

The two biggest players in Episode 9, however, were Peter Petrelli and Sylar. Petrelli, who has now come to realize that his powers are restricted to the heroes around him -- he is like Rogue from X-Men but doesn't need to touch people like a pervert -- has a chance to face off with Sylar. Now, we all assumed that Peter would absorb the mixture of powers possessed by Sylar and face him like a man but, unfortunately, that was not the case. After being struck by a locker door or two, Patrelli runs like a little bitch to a laughing audience. Classic, and possibly an accidental move of genius by NBC.

Sylar, hmm, where to begin. The guy is strong, but he couldn't even stand up to a girl we came to know as a simple student; hello twist! It is amazing what the power of influence could do.

Sleepy time!

So, who is Sylar? After pausing the show repeatedly along with next week's episode preview, we now know that Sylar is played by...

Zachary Quinto! (pictured right)

For the 24 fans out there, Quinto was the computer tech that terrorized (not exactly) Elisha Cuthbert's Kim inside CTU.

Heroes airs at 9PM on Monday nights on NBC.

Stay tuned for updates.
