Though the third season of LOST has not been doing as well as some might have hoped, it is hard to deny that the holiday finale episode was enough to bring fans back to the series. Just when things seem on the up, however, ABC is now forced to push the show to the less-popular 10PM timeslot in order to avoid Fox.
Lost Pushed to 10PM
When the holidays start to close, Fox will begin promoting the return of American Idol, with the season premiere set for Wednesday, February 7th. Since no show has yet been able to stand up against the singing titan of television, ABC had no choice but to push LOST, which was expected to return to the 9PM timeslot, back to 10PM.
ABC has had enough experience last year with Idol when LOST took a notable ratings dip once the popular singing contest premiered.
ABC isn't down and out just yet. To take on Idol and fill the 9PM timeslot, Knights of Prosperity will air on Wednesdays at 9PM only to be followed by another new comedy, In Case of Emergency, at 9:30PM. These two shows should hopefully build some momentum into the 10PM timeslot.
If ABC really wanted momentum, how about a shot of Evangeline Lilly frolicking around the jungle in her underwear? No? Well, worth a shot.
