There has been so much stipulation behind possible release dates for Halo 3 that multiple theories have formed. My favorite theory is that Microsoft is working to release Halo 3 on the exact day that Sony releases PS3; or was it the other way around? Either way, fans have recently grown used to the idea that Halo 3 will not be around before the holidays. Then when?
Halo 3 Release Date
IGN recently received the whopper of a scoop when an anonymous person inside Microsoft contacted them and said that the wait for Halo 3 is going to be longer than predicted.
Most had begun to assume the game wouldn't hit shelves until after the holidays; most likely some time in January. However, according to the scoop, Halo 3 won't be available for purchase until March 2007.
But that is almost a year from now!
According to the report, the delay in release of Halo 2 will give other XBox shooters a chance to shine for the holidays. The movie adaptation for Halo is also due out in summer of 2007, so the March release should be a great promotional reminder to all fans of the genre.
For a bit of good news, Sony has announced that they have got the Blu-Ray issues, aka bugs, under control and are ready to release the PS3 in November.
