With the return of Superman in Bryan Singer's Superman Returns there was no question on whether or not there would be a supporting video game or two. Electronic Arts has been working on the video game for Superman Returns and, taking the obvious route, has picked up the cast from the film to voice the game.
Superman Returns Cast Does Game
According to Variety, Electronic Arts and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment have pushed the cast of Superman Returns onto the video game. The game, which will be released alongside the film this summer, will feature a ton of familiar voices including Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent), Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane), Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor), Parker Posey (Kitty Kowalski) and Sam Huntington (Jimmy Olsen).
Though most the cast is only doing voiceovers, Brandon Routh will be supplying not only his voice but likeness rights for the video game. Since many will quickly see Routh as Superman, it would have been awkward to have a different looking character in the video game.
Electronic Arts is hoping that Superman Returns has an "open world" feel similar to that of Grand Theft Auto, The Godfather and Spider-Man.
Superman Returns will fly into theatres on June 30, 2006.
