Looks like the slow 3rd party support that plagued the initial launch of the Xbox won't be troubling it's sequel Xbox Next. According to Xbox's website Microsoft has announced it's list of developers signed up to produce games for the next gen Xbox system and it looks to be a strong lineup. BioWare (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, X-Men Legends), Bungie Studios (Halo, Halo 2) and Rare (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day) are some of the big names from the 1st and 2nd party publishers. Capcom (Street Fighter Series, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil), EA (Madden series, Medal of Honor, Lord of The Rings), Konami (Silent Hill), Rockstar Games (GTA Series) and Ubisoft (Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon).
X-Box Game Developers Ready to Go
With this kind of lineup Microsoft is planning to come out of the gate blasting in hopes to compete with the more established Playstation brand. Microsoft is still reeling from the beating they took with the initial launch of the Xbox and the sluggish sales that followed due to lack of 3rd party support. Despite the monetary loss with the Xbox Microsoft is still fully committed to Xbox and the list of developers is proof of their commitment.
