Another visit to the Land of the Lost
Even though we have yet to see Will Ferrell's comedic
magic in Kicking and Screaming, he has already moved forward by agreeing
to star in the adaptation of the television comedy Land of the Lost.
Will Ferrell in the Land of the Lost
According to TheHollywoodReporter,
Will Ferrell is set to star in the film comedy Land of the Lost. Universal
recently acquired the feature rights from Sid and Marty Krofft, executive
producers of the original television series and immediately went for Ferrell
to star.
I actually did watch Land of the Lost when I was younger and remember that
I did enjoy it. However, considering I quit watching the show some time
or other does not look favorably on the premise. If you have never heard
of or seen Land of the Lost on cable, here is a brief synopsis:
While on a camping trip, Ranger Rick Marshall and his children, Will and Holly, were canoeing down a river when they went over a waterfall and ended up in the land of the lost. Besides the various dinosaurs they encountered, the Marshalls also regularly interacted with the Pakuni, a tribe of ape like creatures, and the Sleestaks, evil, lizard-like creatures that couldn't come out in the daylight and were afraid of fire.
One of the perks of the film is that it should
feature dinosaurs and a cool theme song like the television show. How Ferrell's
presense will mix with the prehistoric comedy is yet unknown.
