Could we expect to see Yoda pop in from time to time?
I actually had hoped for a lot more news [and leaked
footage] from this years Star Wars Celebration. However, the two
hottest topics was the previewed
Star Wars Revenge of the Sith footage and the updates
on the not-one-but-two Star Wars television series.
More Star Wars TV News
Lucas stated that with the success of Clone
Wars, the stepping ground for Star Wars and TV, he will definitely
continue forward with a Star Wars animated series. But, unlike
Clone Wars, this series will be shown at the standard half an hour
length [Clone Wars was 5 min then 15 min] and be fully CG.
Lucas then follows this by stating that he plans to do the first season
of the live action Star Wars television series all at once. Before
he plans to begin shooting, Lucas wants all of the scripts written. Once
production gets going we can expect a lot of help from multiple directors
[Lucas needs a break].
The live action series will feature tons of characters from the Star
Wars universe that we already know, but supposedly none of the 'main
characters.' Kind of like if he were to pull a Hutt guard from Return of
the Jedi and give him his own show. Well, not exactly... but you got to
have some main characters [or so I'd hope].
