William Monahan, the guy who wrote the script for
Kingdom of
Heaven, is currently working with Warner Bros to pen a
historical epic that follows the journeys of Marco Polo. While this is cool,
it is the actor chosen to play the role of Marco Polo that has gotten my
attention.
Matt Damon is Marco Polo
According to Variety,
Matt Damon is currently in talks with Warner Bros about playing the role
of Marco Polo. When I heard this news I was shocked to think that Matt Damon
would fit the role of the Westerner that dived deep into Asia. But then
again, I would have no idea what to expect, as I know very little about
the explorer [I slept through this part of history].
What I think I know is that Marco Polo was able to turn asian noodles into
spagetti on his arrival home. Or am I wrong here also?
