If you are into Star Wars, and the production that goes into any
film [especially Star Wars], then you may find the feature 'From
Page to Screen' especially exciting.
Revenge of the Sith Art to Film
Moviefone is offering up a 12 page feature that shows some of the earliest
drawings, models, and designs for characters [Grievous included], ships,
walkers, sets, and storyboards for Star Wars Revenge of the Sith.
Each feature, such as the image to the right, comes with an explanation
of what goes on with storyboard artwork and how it is applied to film. Actually,
some of the remarks are pretty interesting and may be enough to get those
who are extremely excited about Sith even more excited.
Here is what is said
about the drawings to the right:
Wrecking Crew
After studying one sequence, [George] Lucas suggests that the Jedi lock
a door, then, in the ensuing explosion on the other side of the door, many
droids could be blown up. As the concept artists and Lucas begin discussing
in detail the storyboards, as story points are discarded and new ideas inserted,
you can hear the film being made.
Like what you hear? Well, head over to MovieFone
to check out all twelve pics with detailed explanations.
Just in case you have been in a coma, Revenge of the Sith comes
out on May 19th.
